MARK D. FASNACHT

Mark D. Fasnacht, 55, of Lower Swatara Township, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

He was born on November 9, 1958 in Hershey, PA. Mark was a graduate of Lower Dauphin High School Class of 1976, and graduated in 2007 from Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, PA with a degree in Funeral Service Education.

He was the head mechanic at the former Behney Motors in Middletown and was currently employed as a mechanic with Grove Motors of Middletown. Besides being an auto mechanic by trade Mark was also a licensed funeral director in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

He was the lead vocalist for the local band Siege, he was involved in local dirt track racing as a sprint car driver, he played ice hockey as a goalie, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a fan of the Philadelphia pro sports teams as well as the Hershey Bears.

Mark was a loving, caring and supportive husband and father, his family always came first to him.

Surviving are his wife Julie E. (May) Fasnacht, his daughter Megan A. Fasnacht of Middletown, his stepdaughter Laura M. McCorts and her companion Esteban Villarreal of Middletown, his stepson Ian S. McCorts and his wife Lindsay of Londonderry Township, his father William H. Leininger and his companion Chris Evitts of Palmyra, his two brothers Doug Leininger and his wife Kathy of Ocean City, MD, Andrew Leininger of Hummelstown, his father-in-law Earl May of Enhaut, six grandchildren, two aunts, an uncle and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Carol Ann Fasnacht.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, May 29, 2014 in the Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory of Elizabethtown. Burial will be in Middletown Cemetery.

Viewings will be from 6pm until 8pm on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 and from 10am until 11am on Thursday, May 29, 2014 in the funeral home.
