Marianne E. Bowman of Elizabethtown, PA passed away at home on November 8, 2014, after a brief but intense battle with pancreatic cancer.

Marianne was born in Mount Vernon, NY on September 16, 1937 to John Michael Quinn and Lydia (Hubner) Quinn. She had two older brothers, Robert of Ridgefield, CT and James of Tempe, AZ, both deceased.

After graduating from high school, Marianne worked as an executive secretary for the Nestle Co. in White Plains, NY, and later for Union Carbide in Tarrytown, NY. In 1964 she met Robert Bowman of Cleona, PA, and they were married in 1965. The Navy family moved frequently and enjoyed life in Charleston, SC; SanDiego; and SanFrancisco, CA; Yokosuka, Japan; Norfolk, VA; Monterey, CA,; Pearl Harbor, HI; and Washington, D.C.. Marianne’s favorite pastimes were counted cross stitch, tennis, down-hill skiing, and entertaining. Marianne was nominated Navy Wife of the Year in 1970.

Marianne and her husband moved to Seattle, WA in 1980 where she was employed as a Human Resources manager at the Providence Hospital corporate office. In 1993, while visiting family in Lebanon County, she suffered a traumatic brain injury that left her a hemiplegic. Now retired, Marianne and her husband have lived in Independent Living in the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown since March of 2013. They are members of the St. Peter Catholic congregation in Elizabethtown.

Marianne is survived by her husband, Bob, one daughter, Karen McMahon and her husband Charles of Littleton, CO.. three grandchildren, a nephew, Brett Quinn and his wife, Mary Beth, of Lincoln, RI, and numerous other loving family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a time to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to Masonic Village, One Masonic Dr., Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
