Marian Yovanovich, a resident of Harmony Senior Living in Hershey, died on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the age of 95. Born in Harrisburg, PA to Harvey Benjamin and Elsie Mae Gardiner, she was raised on the West Side of Steelton and graduated from Steelton High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Ray Yovanovich, on December 4th, 1948. They enjoyed 73 years of marriage prior to his death in 2022, residing in Rutherford Heights, Halifax, and then Lower Swatara Twp’s Old Reliance Farm for 35 years.

Marian managed the Spring Glen Stand at Kline Village Market for many years before retiring to serve with her husband for 5 years in managing Camp Hebron in Halifax, PA. She made many life-long friends and loving memories while working at each.

Marian loved traveling with her husband, cooking for friends, family, and neighbors, and most of all, enjoying time with her family and her many friends. She was a long-time faithful member of the Steelton Mennonite Church.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Ray; sisters Alice, Elsie, and Vera; and brothers, Harvey and Russel. She is survived by her daughters, Diana Bookbinder (Mark) and Susan Williams; daughter-in-law, Janis; grandchildren, Micah, Paul, Melissa, and Adrian (Danielle); 7 great-grandchildren, JayLynn (Joe), Micah (Alexia), Hannah (Ryan), Naomi, Jude, Lauren, and Caroline; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Juniper, Jolie, and Roman; and sisters-in-law, Lorraine, Ruth and Dotty; and many nieces and nephews.

We’ll miss her greatly and take comfort in knowing she is at peace and free from pain. We’ll remember her always for her kindness, her strength and her love.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11 AM, at the Steelton Mennonite Church, 501 North 3rd Street, Steelton, PA 17113. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Steelton Mennonite Church or Paxton Ministries. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
