Marian R. Robinson

Marian R. Robinson of Annville passed away on Friday, October 23, 2015 after a long illness. She was born on September 13, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Robert C. and Carrie M. Hoover. She attended the Gingrich one room schoolhouse in Grantville, Pa and was a 1943 graduate of Hershey High School. Marian retired from the Derry Township School District. She was a member of Gravel Hill United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Stewart, who lovingly cared for her during her illness, and her children: Kent (Judy) Robinson of Mechanicsburg, Gregory (Kim) Robinson of Ocala, FL, and SuAnne (Steven) Sutherly of Palmyra; grandchildren: Gregory (Anne) Robinson of Grantville, Brett (Jason) Robinson of Baltimore, MD, Shelle (Bobby) Sutherly of Middletown, and Shane (Robin) Sutherly of Palmyra; great grandchildren: Joshua, Victoria, Samuel, Veronica, and Mason. She is also survived by her sister Esther Hernley of Myerstown and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings Bertha Koons, Annie Speraw, Robert Hoover, Arlene Hoover, and Caroline Sellers.

Marian “Butchie” was happiest when surrounded by her family and friends, and especially adored her great grandchildren. She loved to cook and bake, make beautiful crafts of any kind, play cards and computer games, check her Facebook account which she joined at the age of 85, and do puzzles all while joyfully singing her favorite country and gospel songs. Her quick sense of humor and warm, welcoming presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank Aceracare Hospice for the support and care given to Marian and the extended Hernley family for the kindness shown towards their Aunt.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078, with Reverend Douglas Smith officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, 131 Gravel Hill Rd, Palmyra, PA 17078.
