Marita Anna (Steinfartz) Countryman, 69, of Palmyra, passed away in her home on Wednesday, August 8, 2012. She was born Thursday, January 7, 1943 in Duesseldorf, Germany to the late Heinz and Mathilde (Ritterbach) Steinfartz. She was predeceased by her loving husband Gene Arthur Countryman and her longtime companion Achim Gonschorek.

She is survived by 3 children, Mark D. Countryman and wife Yvonne of Palmyra, Jessica J. Countryman of Palmyra, and Gene D. Countryman and wife Nicole of Germany; 4 grandchildren, Marvin A., Dorian G., Alec M., and Dina M. Countryman; and a brother Heino Steinfartz and wife Anneli of Germany.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 15th at 3 PM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Rev. Michael W. Rothan as celebrant. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 2 PM until time of the services. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
