Two beautiful souls, Mary Jean Bredbenner, 25, and her 3 year old daughter, Madelyn “Maddy” Michelle Binkley, both of Palmyra, passed away as the result of a boating accident on the Susquehanna River on Monday, May 7, 2018.  Mary was a bright, sweet, creative and sensitive spirit who loved being a Mother to Maddy.  Madelyn was the center of her universe and reflected joy and love to whomever she encountered. They both loved to laugh and had smiles that could light up stars in the sky.

Mary was a graduate of Lower Dauphin High School and attended West Chester University and Penn State. She worked as a supervisor-server at Hershey Pantry and loved her coworkers. Mary also was devoted to her family and made them a priority. Maddy attended First United Methodist Church of Palmyra Daycare and was excited to be in school. She loved to sing, go on adventures with Mommy and Daddy, play with her dogs and hang out with Kiki.

Mary is survived by her fiancé, Cody Binkley, of Palmyra; her parents, Michelle Zullinger Bredbenner and husband, Nelson Zullinger, and William A. Bredbenner, of Hummelstown and companion, Teresa Getz.  Also surviving are Siblings, Kammi (Kiki) Bredbenner and her companion, Zachary Straining of Hershey, Emily Zullinger-Heilman and husband Kieron, of West Chester and Kevin Zullinger of Chambersburg; Great Grandparents, Linda Zullinger, of Chambersburg and the late Robert Zullinger, and the late Monica and William J. Maley of Palmyra;  Aunts, Susan Bredbenner Deibler ( Richard) of Hummelstown and Jeannie Maley Dilworth ( Thomas) of Connecticut,  Special Friends, Lizzie Hauck, Sophie Wright and her daughter Layla who was Maddy’s best buddy and many  other loving cousins and friends.   In addition to Mary’s family, Maddy is survived by her father, Cody Binkley; Grandparents, Cary Sue Windle and her fiancé, Jesse Chavez, of Hershey and Scott Binkley and his wife Kathy, of Robesonia, Great Grandparents, Jolene and Gary Windle,of Palmyra,  Margaret (Grammy Peg)Houck, of Robesonia and the late Robert Houck, and Larry and Linda Binkley, of Adamstown; Uncles include Lorenzo Smith and Anthony Murray, and Great Aunt, Stacy Windle.

Macy, the family dog, who Maddy called “Wooey” also passed away in the accident and will be missed by Bea, Emma, Dolly and all of the above family members.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA  17078, 717-838-9211, on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 3 PM.  Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 1 PM until the time of the service on Saturday.  Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any rescue or volunteer service that was involved in the recovery of our loved ones. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your selfless efforts.

Shine on Mary, Maddy and Wooey!  Heaven just became a lot brighter and we will look for you in the stars!
