Ludmilla (Ruth) Forti, 87, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 4, 2013. She was born May 15, 1925 in Granger, TX to the late Frank and Louise Trcka. She was predeceased by her loving husband Roland F. Forti, Sr.
She is survived by three sons, Roland of Palmyra, Richard of Annville, Steve of Palmyra; two daughters, Linda Berkheiser of Gibsonia, and Veronica (Charles) Mundis of Newark, DE; ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Robert Berkheiser. Her youngest son, David Forti followed her in death on March7
th
, 2013.
She was a hero to many; demonstrating her passion as a volunteer and activist in many arenas. She worked ardently as an organizer who helped in the early establishment of Holy Spirit Church and was a dedicated active participant in all church activities. She was an avid supporter of her children in all their activities, enjoying every opportunity to cheer them on. Known to be very adventurous she loved traveling, dancing, spending time with her family, but most of all, giving of herself to people in need in the form of visitation or transporting the sick or elderly. She was fondly called by family and friends as their Yellow Rose of Texas.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for Ludmilla and her son David on Saturday, April 6
th
at 10 AM at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 245 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Father James F. Podlesny as Celebrant. A private Burial will take place at a later date.
