Lt. Col. (Ret) Gary L. Kuhn, 76, of Annville, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021.  He was born Saturday, May 6, 1944 to the late Charles and Jean (Marsteller) Kuhn and originally was from Fredonia, PA in Mercer County.  He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce L. (Spitler) Kuhn.

Gary was a graduate of Slippery Rock State College and was a proud retired Army Veteran who won various awards during his military career including a Purple Heart, Legion of Merit, Bronze Medal among many others. He served in Vietnam and was drafted in Oct, 1966.

Gary was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion and served a variety of positions including Commander and Quarter Master. Gary was Butler County’s Veteran of the Year, and in charge of the Butler County Veteran Honor Guard wherein he presided and spoke at over 1,000 military funerals for Veterans.  On July 12, 2011 Gary was also awarded by the Mayor of the Borough of Fredonia, “Col. Gary Kuhn Day”.  Most importantly, Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

In addition to his wife Gary is survived by his children: John G. Kuhn and wife Kelley, Tiffany S. Davis and husband Chris, Dwayne C. Grimes and wife Karen, and Travis A. Grimes and wife Kerry; grandchildren, Kaleb J. and Lucas W. Kuhn, Sarah M. Robertson, Nicole L. and Evan G. Grimes, and Keegan A. and Connor J. Grimes; brothers, Charles and Kevin Kuhn; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A Viewing will be held from 1PM until 2PM on Monday, April 12, 2021 at the Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078.  A funeral service will immediately follow the viewing.

An additional Visitation will be held from 11AM to 1PM on Monday, April 26, 2021 at the American Legion, Lyndora, PA – Post 778 (Butler, PA).  Military Honors will take place at 1PM with a dinner to follow.

Burial will follow at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
