Lorraine Fay (Geib) Patterson

Lorraine F. (Geib) Patterson, 85, of Palmyra passed away December 26, 2023, at Londonderry Village. Lorraine was born August 26, 1938, in Campbelltown, a daughter of the late Paul W. and Luella (Spitler) Geib.

Lorraine was a graduate of Hershey High School class of 1956. During her high school years, she was a “carhop” and “soda Jerk” at Millie’s Drive-in & Restaurant in Palmyra. She was Employee Relations Coordinator at H.B. Reese Candy Co. until her retirement in 1996 after 37 years of service.

She was a member and former secretary of Hershey AARP. Lorraine was the secretary for the class of “56” reunion committee. She was also a member of the Happy Hikers walking group of Palmyra for 16 years and for several years planned and scheduled the routes for the group to hike.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, David “Red” Patterson; and her two brothers: Dale Geib, and Paul Geib. She is survived by two sons: Jeffrey Patterson (wife, Marlies), and Timothy Patterson; grandchildren: Lance Patterson, Jeffrey Patterson (wife, Laura), Marie Patterson, and Gerhard Patterson; step grandson: Lars Branoff;  and two great grandchildren: Stella Marie Patterson, and Theodore Joseph Patterson.  Also surviving is her sister, Francis Kauffman (husband, James); and her two sister-in-laws: Helen Geib and Cheryl Geib. She is also survived by five nephews and two nieces.

Lorraine loved to read and was computer savvy. She was a wonderful cook and baker.  She and Red traveled to the beaches of NJ, Hawaii, and SC on family vacations, toured Europe, and experienced many other destinations: New Orleans, Alaska, Georgia, and more. She kept a large map and in it put red push pins to show all the places she had been to. She loved to laugh, and feed the birds...Most of all, Lorraine loved her family more than anything.

A viewing will be held Friday January 5, 2024 at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory. 25 West Pine Street Palmyra, PA 17078 starting at 10:00 AM with services to follow at 11:00 AM.
