While at Elizabethtown College, he met his future wife, Eleanor, whom he married in June 1965 at the Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren shortly after graduation.
After a short tenure as an auditor for Price Waterhouse in New York City, Loren joined National Cash Register as an accountant in Ithaca, NY. Later in his career, he relocated to Dayton Ohio as Director of Finance for the NCR Business Forms Division and soon returned to Mt. Joy as the Plant Manager until his retirement from NCR in 1998.
Upon his corporate retirement, Loren and Eleanor relocated to Billings, Montana for nearly 20 years. During this time, Loren worked with his son, Dave, at Keystone Construction in Billings. They enjoyed the peaceful open plains and moonlit nights along the ancient bluff of the Yellowstone River as well as the company of their grandchildren. From their log home, Loren could see across Montana’ big sky from the Beartooth Pass to the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming. More recently, Loren and Eleanor returned to Mt. Joy where they have resided until his death on October 20, 2025. Loren enjoyed visits with his grandchildren, spy novels, and football - especially the Dallas Cowboys.
