Lois L. (Lord) Manton

Lois L. (Lord) Manton, 81, formerly of Indian Harbour Beach, FL and Broomall, PA, passed away at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown on Saturday, January 2, 2016.  She was born Tuesday, April 3, 1934 in the Bronx to the late George D. and Mildred J. (Jackson) Lord.  She was married to the late Russell F. Manton for over 52 years.

Mrs. Manton was a graduate of Marple Newtown High School and later went on to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree from Saint Joseph’s University.  She was also a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, Newtown Square, PA, Holy Apostles Episcopal Church, Satellite Beach, FL and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Mount Joy, PA.

She retired from the Business Office at Marple Newtown High School where she was an accountant for a number of years, retiring as treasurer.  Following her retirement, Lois was active in VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) in Elizabethtown.  Lois also enjoyed traveling, particularly to Switzerland.  Above all, she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She will be lovingly missed by two children: Deborah M. Wiedemann, of Harrisburg; James S. Manton, husband of Martine, of Elizabethtown; two grandchildren, Rose I. and Nicholas P. Manton, both of Elizabethtown and a brother, David Lord, husband of Mary Ellen, of Boyertown as well as Lois’ extended family and caring friends.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Paul D. Manton.

A Private Graveside Service will be at the convenience of the family in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall, PA.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022.
