Lloyd “Rocky” Martin, Jr., 96, of

  , passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at his home.  He was born Monday, July 23, 1917 in Snydertown to the late Lloyd, Sr. and Minnie (Kahney) Martin.  He was predeceased by his loving wife Hazel (Hornberger) Martin in 1975.

  , served as Assistant Chief and later Chief of Citizens Fire Company No.1 for 10 years, was former Assistant Fire Marshal to the PA State Police, and received many awards and decorations for his years of community service.  Being a survivor of the great depression shaped the person known to all as “Rocky”.  He was humble, hardworking, and generous to those in need.  He was a strong but loving man who will be missed by many.
 
 
  He is survived by a son, Robert L. Martin, Sr. and wife Shirley (Lebo) of Palmyra; two grandchildren, Robert L. Martin, Jr. and wife Sara of Palmyra, and Lisa E. Vonada and husband (Robert) of Palmyra; four great grandchildren, Madilynn, Henry, Lana, and Lucy; one brother, COL (Ret.) John L. Martin, US Army, of Wellsville.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Richard L. and William R. Martin; a sister, Geraldine Love.
 
 
  Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service with full military and fire service honors which will be held on Saturday, April 26th at 2:45 PM in
