LLOYD W. “TODD” ALBAUGH

Lloyd W. "Todd" Albaugh, 89, of Mount Joy, formerly of Elizabethtown and Warren, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Hospice & Community Care of Lancaster County, Mount Joy with his family by his side. Born in Clarendon, he was the son of the late Marion "Vern" and Mae (Sallade) Albaugh. His cherished wife of 63 years, Marion (Anderson), preceded him in death in December, 2011.

Todd was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving from September 1943 until March 1946. His service on naval troop ships was largely in the South Pacific where, among other things, he was witness to the Battle of Iwo Jima. During his time in the service, Todd made several cross-country trips by train from San Francisco, CA to Erie, PA. In 2009, at the age of 84, Todd was able to visit the WW II Memorial in Washington, D.C. with his son and two grandsons.

Todd was retired from the Agway Inc, Distribution Center in Elizabethtown where he was a warehouse supervisor. He was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Elizabethtown, where he loved to sing in his beautiful tenor voice. Todd also worked as a part-time custodian at his church for many years after his retirement from Agway and coordinated rides for church members needing transportation.

In addition to his parents and wife, Todd was predeceased by his sister, Beulah Lauffer; his four brothers, Marion, Merle, Alvin, and Ray; and a great-grandson, Aaron Keith Young.

His guidance and unconditional love will be greatly missed by his three children: Roxanne K., wife of Gary Storm, Mount Joy; Pamela S., wife of Keith Wolgemuth, Elizabethtown; and Todd A., husband of Cindy Albaugh, Palmyra; six grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; many nieces and nephews to whom he was like a second father; and his caregivers who became like family to him.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 125 East High Street, Elizabethtown PA 17022 at 2:00 p.m. There will be no viewing. The family will receive visitors on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place in the church Memorial Garden.

Arrangements are under the care of the Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory of Elizabethtown. www.millerfuneralhome.com.

If desired, contributions may be made to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church or to Hospice & Community Care of Lancaster County, PO Box 4125, Lancaster PA 17604.
