L. Eugene Snyder

L. Eugene Snyder, 91, of Palmyra, formerly of Elizabethtown passed away on April 25, 2017 at the M. S. Hershey Medical Center.  He was born May 20, 1925 in Conewago Township to the late Abram and Sarah (McCorkel) Snyder.  He was predeceased by his loving wife of 64 years, Geraldine “Gerry” R. (Landis) Snyder.

Eugene proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II.  Gerry and Eugene enjoyed traveling and in his younger years Eugene was an avid golfer.  He was a member of the First Church of God in Elizabethtown.  Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

He is survived by 2 sons, Dennis E. Snyder and wife Barb of Elizabethtown and Jeffrey F. Snyder and wife Deb of Harrisburg; 4 grandchildren, Michelle Stoner and husband Meade, Michael Snyder and wife Melissa, Shawna Sansoni and husband Jonathan, and Yulia  Snyder; and 8 great-grandchildren, Maggie, Isaiah, Olivia, Abe, Grace, Levi, Anna, and Mia.

A graveside service will be held Friday, April 28, 2017 at 2 PM at Shenk’s Community Cemetery, 5880 Schoolhouse Rd., Elizabethtown 17022 with Chaplain Mary Eller officiating.   Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown 17022.
