Lenord E. Green, Jr.

Lenord E. Green, Jr., 55, formerly of Palmyra, passed away peacefully at his home in Bainbridge, on Thursday, May 23, 2019.  Born Wednesday, April 29, 1964 in Philadelphia, he was the son of Lenord E. Green, Sr. and the late Louise (Tackett) Green.  He was married to Joan L. (Bortel) Green on October 17, 1998.

Len enjoyed vacationing with his family at the beach, playing basketball with the neighborhood kids, and rooting for the Eagles and Phillies. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Len was an avid bowler, with a high score of 299. Most of all, Len liked spending time at home with Joan.

In addition to his wife of over 20 years, he is survived by his father, Lenord, Sr., husband of Joanne, of Palmyra; his siblings: Elizabeth Morrissey (Mike Harman), Mary Hoover (David), Charles Green, Louise Gricks (Doug Miller), Ernest Green (Chelsea), Tara Boltz (Richard); sister-in-law Jennifer Bortel (David Nurkiewicz); and father-in-law James Bortel and friend Bill Seese. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and caring friends.

There will not be a viewing or visitation.  A Celebration of Len’s life will be held at 3 PM on Friday, June 7, 2019 at the Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA  17022, 717-367-1543.  Private interment will be at the convenience of the family. Following the service, please join the family to share food and fellowship at Hoss’s, 840 N. Hanover St., Elizabethtown (Dutch treat).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Len’s memory to Hospice of Central PA, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, American Cancer Society or to any charity that helps improve the life of an animal.
