Leara Elizabeth Farmer-Kline of Wernersville, PA, kept her appointment with Jesus peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2022, at the age of 98. Leara was born September 23, 1924, in Middleburg, PA, to the late Edward Miller and Mable Klase.
After attending Elizabethtown High School, she spent the beginning of her working career at Savoy Shoe Factory for 24 years. Following that, she worked for 20 years at the Masonic Village, retiring in 1989. Independent, hard-working, beautiful and classy, she loved her family and her Lord and was loved by all who knew her. She was also a noted collector of angels and loved the color red. A voracious reader, it is estimated that she read between 6,000 and 8,000 books during her life. She will be missed greatly.
Leara is survived by her son, David Farmer, and wife, Carol; granddaughters, Cherise Harper and Danielle Malik; great granddaughters; Jordan Keiser, Yasmeen Malik, Aneesa Malik, Layla Malik, and grandsons, Dakota Harper and Armaan Malik. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Robert Farmer and her second husband of 30 years, John Kline.
A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, November 5, 10 am, at Stevens Hill Church, 3131 Turnpike Road, Elizabethtown, where she was a member of the congregation. Lunch to follow.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home and Crematory, Elizabethtown, PA. Interment will be at Fort Indiantown Gap Military Cemetery. No flowers, please. Donations may be made in her name to Stevens Hill Community Church of the Brethren.
