Lawrence P. Betz

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lawrence P. “Larry” Betz, age 70, of Rheems, PA on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Larry was born in Pittsburgh, PA on Wednesday, February 16, 1955, to the late Lawrence J. and Celine C. Betz.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Dana; daughter, Brandy; stepson, Chad Shank; granddaughter, Indigo Nave Persing; and grandson, Zackary Shank. He is also survived by his sisters, Pam Frank (Fred), Christine Brown; brother, Peter Betz (Susie); nieces, Natalie, Nicole, Brittany, Heather, Jackie, Mary, Stephanie; and nephew, David. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Doris Tipler Betz and son, Evan L. Betz.

Larry was a great lover of the outdoors and passionate about his family and friendships he made over the years. He was bright, funny, welcoming and kind. We will all miss him so very much.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 3pm to 5pm, with time for sharing beginning at 5pm at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
