Laura "Bette" (Blatt) Deibert

Laura “Bette” (Blatt) Deibert, 86, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the Hospice of Central PA Residence, Harrisburg.  She was born Monday, May 23, 1927 in Leesport to the late Calvin and Laura (Becker) Blatt.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Thomas W. Deibert in 2004.

She graduated from Ontelaunee High School Class of 1945, Helen Moore Hoffman School Class of 1946, was a homemaker in her early years while raising a young family and later retired as Senior Administrative Assistant from HERCO following 24 years of loyal service.  She was an active member of Gravel Hill United Methodist Church where she enjoyed being involved in the church bazaar.  She enjoyed sewing and crafts, but most of all she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be missed by many.

She is survived by a son, Scott T. Deibert and wife Patricia of WI; two daughters, Susan A. Hyde and husband Melvin of Palmyra and Karen D. Stefan and husband Dean of Palmyra; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a grandson, Thomas W. Deibert, II.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 11th at 2 PM at Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, 131 Gravel Hill Rd., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Rev. Douglas Smith officiating.  Family and friends are invited for visitation from 1 PM until time of the service at the church.  Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.  Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra has been entrusted with the arrangements.
