Larry Michael Morris, 72, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at the Masonic Village of Elizabethtown, after a valiant 37 year battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on May 18, 1952 in Clearfield, PA to the late William Merill and Barbara (Boal) Morris.

Larry’s family moved to Indiana, PA, where he graduated from Indiana High School is 1970. He pursued his studies at Indiana University of PA with a BS degree in Education, Social Science major, in 1974. In 1991 he received a Master’s in Business Administration.

He was past master of Indiana Masonic Lodge #313, where he was part of the advisory council of the DeMolay, as well as a Master Counselor, Representative DeMolay, and Chevaliere Degree, and current member of the Abraham C. Treichler Lodge # 682, F&AM. He was a Boy Scout counselor for Indiana troop #133. When the family moved to Berks county, he was a counselor for Topton Boy Scout troop #510.

Larry retired from the First Energy Company where he worked as a Senior Economic Development Executive. He was part of the Governor’s Action Team, traveling to Germany, England, and Mexico. He was manager of First Energy’s Export Now Program, an international export and reverse investment initiative, leading contact from local, state, national, and international development partners.

He was an avid fly fisherman, hunter, and loved to play golf. His favorite vacation spot was at his beloved Hickory Lodge in Sinnemahoning, PA.

Larry will be greatly missed by his wife of 47 years, Connie Annette (Glassford) Morris; sons, Timothy Michael Morris of Lancaster, PA,and Matthew George Morris of Portsmouth, VA; grandchildren, Patrick, Brayden, Taylor, Brody, and Seabastin. He is also survived by his brothers, Dennis Lee Morris of Erie, PA, and Jeffrey Joseph Morris of Charlotte, NC; sister-in-law Tama Morris; nieces, Megan, Jennifer, Elizabeth, and Rachel; nephews, Matthew, William, Kenneth, and six great nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Cathy Marie (Glassford) Powers and JoAnn (Frank) Glassford.

Connie thanks the staff of Lafayette West and Masonic Hospice for their compassionate, loving care for Larry.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Friday, January 3, 2025 at the Sell Chapel of Masonic Village, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 beginning with a Masonic Service. A time of fellowship will be held after the service. Interment will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
