Larry Dale Chocklette

Larry Dale Chocklette, 84, of Middletown, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at UPMC Community General Hospital, Harrisburg.  He was born Thursday, January 25, 1940, in Elizabethville to the late Harold C. and Anna C. (Troutman) Chocklette.  He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Lois Jean (Hershey) Chocklette.

After graduating high school, he enlisted in the US Air Force and later the US Navy where he honorably served overseas during Vietnam.  He received his formal communications training while serving his country, which prepared him for his 33 year professional career as a network engineering manager with the United Telephone Company, later becoming the Sprint Corporation.  He was a member of the Hershey Free Church and faithful volunteer and supporter of Hilltop Christian Nursery School.  He loved traveling and spending time with his wife and daughter, and had an affinity for ice cream, especially peanut butter swirl.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by a daughter, Becky L. Chocklette; two sisters, Mary Strange and companion Vance, Shirley Sheaffer and husband John; and numerous other family members.  He was predeceased by a brother, John Chocklette.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 13th at 11 AM at the Hershey Free Church, 330 Hilltop Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036 with Pastors David Martin and George Davis officiating.  Family and friends are invited for a period of visitation from 10 AM until time of the service and following the service at the church.  Private burial with full military honors will take place in Hillsdale Cemetery at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Fager-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 208 North Union Street, Middletown.
