Landis Huber Kreider, 94, formerly of Conewago Twp., Dauphin County, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Landis Homes in Lititz. Born in Elizabeth Twp., Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Benjamin S. and Lizzie (Huber) Kreider. Landis was the husband of Arlene M. (Nissley) for 73 years on March 22nd.
Landis was a member, trustee and MDS representative of Stauffer’s Mennonite Church, Hershey. He was a faithful supporter of MDS until the time of his passing. From 1954 thru 1956 he fulfilled his 1W service at the Philadelphia State Hospital Farm Office. After his service, he bought and moved to a farm south of Hershey where he lived for the next 57 years. In addition to farming crops, he owned and operated a chicken and egg retail business for 25 years. He also drove school bus for Kraybill Mennonite School.
In 1983, he started work with AMP, Inc. in the Signal Component Division at Rapho Park in Mt. Joy, from which he retired after 18 years and still continued to farm until moving to Landis Homes in 2013.
Landis continued to be productive by volunteering many of his retired hours in the MCC Material Resource Center, Ephrata warehouse, helping with recycling old book and keeping tons of clothing out of the landfills. Landis was most happy to be working, often 5 days a week.
He enjoyed playing Scrabble, Dominoes and putting together 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles. He especially looked forward to Saturday game day with his daughter, Beverly.
In addition to his wife Arlene, he is survived by four children: Donald Kreider (Phyllis), Beverly Jacoby, Brenda Pascotti and Jerry Kreider (Kathy); four grandsons: Timothy Kreider (Audrey), Jerry Kreider, Jr. (Sierra), Jacob Kreider (Nath) and Russell Kreider (Katie); step-grandchildren Angela Stewart (James) and James Pascotti (Carina); four great grandchildren: Saitama, Kaito, Everly and Drake Kreider; step-great grandchildren: Malcolm Pascotti, Matthew Stewart, Victor Sundberg, August Sundberg, Maja Sundberg, Emma Boksan, Zoe Boksan and S.J. Boksan; 5 step-great great grandchildren; a sister, Ellen Bennett, two sisters-in-law, Marian Kreider and Esther Kreider.
He was predeceased by seven siblings, Charles, Wilmer, Ruth, Lloyd, Paul, Benjamin and Earl Kreider; a brother-in-law, George Bennett, two sons-in-law, Allen Jacoby and Anthony Pascotti and one granddaughter, Erin Kreider.
Services and interment are private.
The Kreider family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Landis Homes staff of both Cedar and Ephrata House for their excellent care these past six months and also to Hospice and Community Care for their care the last week of his life.
