Lance M. Frehafer, 91, of the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, and formerly of Palmyra, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 1, 2016. He was the husband of Doris Walmer Frehafer, whom he married on August 21, 1950.

He was born in 1924 in Schuylkill Haven.  He was the son of the late Lance and Bertha Teichman Frehafer. He graduated from Schuylkill Haven High school in 1942 and attended Lebanon Business College.  During World War II, he served as a flight engineer with US Army Air Corps' 9th Air Force in the European Theatre of Operations. He attained the rank of Staff Sergeant, completed 17 combat missions, and received two Battle Stars. He was a 50 year member of the American Legion Post 559, Annville.
Following the war, he began his banking career in 1946 at the former Lebanon County Trust Company. He retired as Executive Vice President of Lebanon Valley National Bank after 50 years of service. He also served as a Board Director from 1978 to 1996.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Palmyra, where he served as a member of the Administrative Council and the Finance Committee for several years. He also served as Treasurer of the Palmyra Chapter of the Salvation Army for 46 years.

He also was a 60 year member of Mt. Lebanon Masonic Lodge 226 of Lebanon, and also a member of the Harrisburg Consistory.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, David K. (Wife Robin) of Lititz, and Jack A. (Wife Vy) of Palmyra.  He was preceded in death by his sister Doris Weise of Laguna Hills, California.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March  5, 2016 at 11 AM at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078.  A Masonic service will be held at 10 AM with a viewing to follow until 11 AM.  Burial will take place in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery will full military honors.
In lieu flowers memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Memorial Fund of the Palmyra First United Methodist Church, 520 E. Birch St., Palmyra 17078 or to the Salvation Army, 1031 Guilford St., Lebanon 17042.
