Kenneth L. Scheffler, 88, of Slatington, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Lester & Merle (Handwerk) Scheffler. He was widowed by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth (Onusconich) Scheffler, in 2015.
He graduated from the former Slatington High School and Thaddeus Stevens College. Kenneth worked in the maintenance department of the American Nickeloid Co. for over 30 years. He was an avid marksman, participating in all types of shooting sports. More recently, he enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles. Still a carpenter at heart, he made his own wooden frames for his puzzles, and constructed birdhouses and wooden projects with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Snyder and husband Richard of Elizabethtown, and grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Cadyn Snyder. He was predeceased by his sister, Carlene Bennicoff.
Private burial with military honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
