Kenneth J. Nornhold, 72, of Hummelstown, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was born Wednesday, September 16, 1942 in Palmyra to the late Norman A. and Margaret (Crawford) Nornhold. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Marcia A. (Miller) Nornhold.
Kenneth was a Hershey High School graduate. He retired as a supervisor from Mid-State Construction where over the years he worked on projects such as the Kit Kat Café, Briarcrest apartments, and many of the
local churches. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 214. He built his own home and most of the furniture in it. Kenneth loved being outdoors skiing, hunting, golfing, and fishing. He always cheered on his favorite sports teams, PSU, the Boston Red Sox and Bruins, and the Green Bay Packers. Most importantly he was a loving husband, father, and brother.
He is survived by his daughter, Denise K. Nornhold and fiancé Michael Begler; 2 sisters, Janet Pellegrini and Shirley Gould and husband James; a brother-in-law, Gary Miller and wife Ramona; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Herman C. Nornhold.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 28th at 10 AM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078 with Pastor Uble Frost officiating. Friends and family are invited for visitation from 9:30 AM until time of the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Dialysis Unit at Penn State Hershey Medical Center in care of the Office of University Development, PO Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033.
