Kenneth C. “Ken” Bell, 71, of Palmyra, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at his home in South Londonderry Township. Born in 1950, in Hershey, he was the son of the late Merle R. Bell Sr. and Eva (Rhine) Eshleman. He was married to Sharon A. (Hughes) Bell for over 51 years.
A Veteran of the Vietnam War, Ken proudly served with the U.S. Army. He worked for H.B. Reese Candy Company for over 42 ½ years before retiring in 2010. He was also a member of Gravel Hill United Methodist Church, Palmyra.
In addition to his wife of over 51 years, he is survived by two children: Tami M. Bell, of Lebanon and Chad M. Bell, married to Elizabeth, of Palmyra. Also surviving are two grandchildren: Jackson M. and Benjamin M. Bell, of Palmyra; two brothers: Ronald Bell, of Hershey, Alan Bell, married to Brenda, of Palmyra; a sister-in-law, Beverly, of Annville, as well as Ken’s extended family and caring friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Merle “Rich” Bell.
Ken believed in ‘family first’, always serving others and doing what is right always. Ken loved nothing more than cheering on his grandsons’ during hockey season and rarely missed a game. Ken was a fan favorite by many and always had something positive to say. Ken’s love for his family and friends was unquestionable and will be desperately missed by all.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078, 717-838-9211, with Pastor Shawn Lochinger officiating. Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with military honors. A time of visitation with the family will be held from 10:30 AM until the start of the service on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ken’s memory to any charity or organization that will benefit a United States Veteran.
