Kelle R. (McClune) Lainhoff
Kelle R. (McClune) Lainhoff, 58, of Manor Township, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy with her loving husband by her side. Born October 28, 1957 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Joyce A. McClune and the late Jay B. McClune. She was married to Joseph M. Lainhoff on November 12, 1977.
In 2007 Kelle was recognized by the Senate of Pennsylvania as a “role model worthy of emulation” for her considerable contributions to the establishment of the Red Rose Veterans Honor Guard. She was justifiably proud of the Honor Guard and her role in helping to get it started in 1998, and continued to work with it until she was no longer able to due to health reasons. She was also active as a Cub Scout den mother, and was one of the first women in the local Boy Scout Council to serve as Webelos den leader and Boy Scout leader.
She loved spending time with her son, daughter-in-law, and her grandchildren, playing games like Uno, Electronic Battleship, and Apples to Apples. She was an avid Penn State and Philadelphia Eagles follower.
In addition to her devoted husband of over 38 years, she will be lovingly missed by a son, Troy A. Lainhoff, husband of Krista; three grandchildren, Blake A., Cole A. and Caroline E. Lainhoff, all of VA; her mother, Joyce A. McClune, of Lancaster; her step-mother, Emma McClune, of Willow Street; a brother, Craig B. McClune, as well as Kelle’s extended family and caring friends. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by a daughter, Tara R. Lainhoff, who died on November 20, 2010.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the Church of the Apostles United Church of Christ, 1850 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA 17603 with the Reverend Kathryn L. Kuhn officiating. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a viewing at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service on Thursday. Graveside Services for the immediate family and close friends will be in Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, VA on Friday, December 10, 2015 at 11 AM. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 29 N. Gay St., Marietta, Pa 17547.
