Kay L. (Jones) Dimeler

Kay L. Dimeler, 85, of Elizabethtown passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born Saturday, July 22, 1939 in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth(Bishop) Jones. She was married 57 years to William T. Dimeler who passed away in December 2018.
Kay was a graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School where she played basketball and field hockey. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Elizabethtown College and played basketball there as well. Kay taught elementary school for four years at Londonderry Elementary School in the Lower Dauphin School District and 32 years in the Elizabethtown Area School District, retiring in 1999. She was an active member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Elizabethtown for over 50 years. Kay also enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Kay is survived by a step- daughter Pamela J. Shearer (Steven) of Bainbridge; two daughters Lisa K. Hawkins (Nathaniel) of Lebanon and Tracy W. Miller (Cory) of Middletown, and seven grandchildren: Brooke, Kyle, Keith, Nathan, Caleb, Garrett and Sam.
Kay was predeceased by a great grandson Blake Shearer.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 398 North Locust Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Goods Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
