Kathryn L. (Williams) Smeal

Kathryn L. (Williams) Smeal, 81, of Bainbridge, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Lancaster General Hospital.  She was born November 18, 1933 in Philipsburg, PA to the late Luther “Ted” and Regina “Jean” (Hummel) Williams.  She was predeceased on August 6, 2003 by her loving husband of 52 years, Roy D. Smeal.

Kathryn was employed as a cook/server in the cafeteria of the Elizabethtown School District retiring on June 14, 1996.  She was an active and longtime member of the Bainbridge Church of God, enjoyed going to GiGi’s Ice Cream Parlor in Bainbridge and was active in the Elizabethtown Area Senior Center.  She enjoyed playing bingo as well as playing various games with her family and friends, quilting, crocheting and going with her husband to their cabin in Clearfield County, PA.  Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her loving family.

She is survived by five children; Robert D. Smeal and wife Deborah, of Maytown, Larry J. Smeal and wife Sheryl, of Maytown, Roger Smeal, of Mount Joy, Kathy J. Tomasetti and husband Ronald, of Elizabethtown, Kevin J. Smeal, and wife Emma, of Elizabethtown; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two brothers; Mack Williams and wife Mary, of Wallaceton, PA, Darl Williams and wife Sally, of Bainbridge; a sister, Pat English, of Elizabethtown as well as Kathryn’s extended family and caring friends.  She was predeceased by a grandson, Bryan Tomasetti and three brothers, Melvin Williams, S. John Williams and Ronald Williams.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 3 ^rd , 2015 at 11 AM at Mount Joy Church of God, 30 East Main Street, Mount Joy, PA  17552 with Pastor Andrew Johnston officiating.  Family and friends are invited for viewing at the church on Monday from 6 to 8 PM and also at the church on Tuesday from 10 AM until the time of the service.  Burial will follow in Maytown Union Cemetery, Maytown.  Miller-Sekely Funeral Home and Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown has been entrusted with the arrangements.
