Katherine M. (Wajdic) Maren

Katherine Marie (Wajdic) Maren, 86, of Harrisburg, passed away with family by her side on August 10, 2017 at Community General Osteopathic Hospital.  She was born December 18, 1930 in Harrisburg to the late Peter J. and Katherine (Sataic) Wajdic.

Katherine retired from both PSERS and Capital Blue Cross.  She was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Harrisburg.  Katherine was a skilled baker and a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed.

She is survived by 6 children, Michelle Hale, Katherine Silverman (Brian), Thomas (Barb), George (Mary), Eileen Everhart (Dale), and Lisa Cushing (Ralph); 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Rosemarie Glockler.  She was predeceased by her loving husband George Francis Maren; her companion Al Stefanov; and 10 siblings.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11 AM at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 2121 N. 3rd St., Harrisburg 17110 with Rev. Raymond J. LaVoie as celebrant.  Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10 AM until time of the Mass.  Private burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Harrisburg.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Fager-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 208 N. Union St., Middletown 17057.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank, 3908 Corey Rd., Harrisburg 17109.
