Julia J. (Catherine) Pavone, 93, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2015 in the Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra. She was born Friday, July 8, 1921 in Annville to the late Guiseppi and Maria (Donata) Catherine. She was predeceased by her loving husband Donald T. Pavone in 1991.
Julia was a faithful member of The Church of the Holy Spirit. She was employed by Hershey Chocolate for 20 years where she worked on the assembly line of the almond bars and miniatures. Shortly after marrying Donald she left the factory to tend and care for their home. Julia had a kind and generous disposition, she loved animals, and made an amazing homemade Italian Wedding Soup. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary E. Pavone and 3 brothers, John, Earl, and Daniel Catherine.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 23rd at 11 AM at Church of the Holy Spirit, 245 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Father James F. Podlesny as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Hershey Cemetery. At Julia’s request there will be no viewing. Arrangements have been entrusted to Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra 17078.
