Joyce Arletta Shenfeld
July 19, 1929 — January 2, 2022
Joyce Arletta (Fager) Shenfeld, 92, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 2, 2022 in Harrisburg. She was born on Sunday, July 19, 1929 to the late Clarence and Sadie (Grubb) Fager. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years since 2006, Lloyd Shenfeld.
Joyce had a love for animals, especially her cats. In her spare time she enjoyed crafts, specifically crocheting. She held many different jobs, mostly working at grocery stores but also as an elementary school teacher’s aid, selling Avon, and even a census taker. More than anything she was a loving wife, getting married young after WWII, and a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.
She is survived by her children: David Shenfeld and wife Natthida, and Aretta Shenfeld; grandchildren, Matthew-Lloyd Shenfeld and Natchaya Shenfeld; sister, Alice Etter; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her siblings, Ruth Williams, Mildred Kreiser, Clarence Melvin Fager, John Fager, and Ruby Crow.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 11AM at Shenk’s Community Church, 5880 Schoolhouse Rd., Elizabethtown, PA 17022. A time of viewing will be held from 10AM until the start of the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
