Joyce E. (Smith) Bell

Joyce Esther (Smith) Bell, 84, of Athens, OH, formerly of Lebanon, PA, passed away with her daughter by her side on December 12, 2015 at The Laurels of Athens, Athens, OH.  She was born January 8, 1931 in North Cornwall Township to the late Paul Henry and Estella Bertha (Kleinfelter) Smith.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Leon Bell, Sr..

Joyce was the wife of a farmer and a loving homemaker.  She worked in the Cornwall-Lebanon School District Cafeteria.  She helped with the food preparation for community meals.  Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Hoshower and husband Leon of Athens, OH; 2 sons, Leon Bell, Jr. and wife Cynthia of Grand Rapids, MI and Jonathan Bell, Sr. and wife Stephanie of Lebanon, PA; 7 grandchildren, Jason Hoshower and wife Jing Han, Lisa Greenfield and husband Andrew, Michael Bell and wife Lara, Mark Bell and wife Ashley, Ryan Bell, Melissa Ginther, and Jonathan Bell, Jr.; 6 great-grandchildren, Eve Ginther, Lawson, Ava, Ivy and Georgia Bell, and Jarred Rinehold; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends from prayer breakfast.  She was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Ann Wenger.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 18, 2015 at 11 AM at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Pastor John Hunt officiating.  Family and friends are invited for viewing from 10 AM until time of the service.  Burial will follow the service in Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery, Campbelltown, PA.
