Joseph Xavier Gotowski

Joseph Xavier Gotowski, 31, of Mount Joy, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born Tuesday, December 13, 1994, in Hershey, he was the son of Matthew A. and Cynthia A. (Wolfgang) Gotowski.

Joseph was a 2013 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Elizabethtown College in 2025. Joseph loved baseball, was a huge Pittsburgh Pirates fan, and was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed birdwatching and cared for several bird feeders. Joseph had a passion for cooking, baking and grilling, and loved animals. Joesph was strong in his faith, and never gave up in the face of adversity.

Surviving in addition to his parents is a brother Alex Gotowski of San Francisco, CA, a sister Meg Gotowski of Williamsburg, VA; Uncle Tony Wolfgang and wife Debbie, Uncle Craig Gotowski, Aunt Rosanne Frank and husband Ted, along with numerous cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 940 Mill Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Visitation with family will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will take place in St. Peter Catholic Church Cemetery.
