John N. Zapcic, Sr.
October 31, 1926 — November 5, 2024
John N. Zapcic, Sr., 98, of Hershey, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025 at the Gardens at West Shore. Born in Enhaut, he was the son of the late Peter Joseph and Evelyn (Flegal Fasler) Zapcic.
John enlisted in the United States Navy during WWII. His naval career continued through the Korean Conflict and the brink of Vietnam. After retiring from the Navy is 1962, he continued his service to his country at the New Cumberland Army Depot until his retirement in 1987.
John will be missed by all that knew him for his kind, gentle nature. Fair winds and following seas.
He is survived by three children. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ada, in 1990, his second wife, Peggy (Hoover), in 2019, two children, and an infant brother.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078, with Rev. David Kreider officiating. Family and friends are invited for a viewing from 10am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors.
