John Harry Flowers, 77, of Palmyra, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born Monday, January 13, 1936 in Lebanon County to the late George V. and Mary (Blauch) Flowers. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Judith M. (Snavely) Flowers.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Tracy Kulp and husband Bill and Angie Marcus; a son, David Flowers and wife Amanda; 4 grandchildren, Ava Kulp, Quinn Marcus, Hannah Flowers, and Luke Batz and wife Lan; and a great-grandson Jackson Batz. He was predeceased by 2 children, John H. Flowers, Jr. and Brenda M. Batz and husband Michael; and 2 siblings, George Flowers, Jr. and Evelyn Jennings.
John worked for Hershey Foods for 30 years, he spent many of those years working in the press room. He was a faithful attendee of Lebanon Valley Bible Church. He enjoyed working with his hands by gardening and playing the guitar. He loved being outdoors and hunting and fishing. John was an avid reader and a loving family man.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 10th at 10 AM at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine Street, Palmyra, PA 17078 with Pastor John B. Hunt officiating, with visitation from 9 AM until time of the service. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Lebanon Valley Bible Church, 1482 Horseshoe Pike, Lebanon, PA 17042.
