Jean Laray (Rothermel) Gutshall

Jean LaRay Gutshall, 80, of Mount Joy, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 22, 2018. She was the wife of Asa Gutshall; they celebrated their 61st anniversary earlier this year. Her life prayer was for a close-knit family who followed God. She will be lovingly missed by them all.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by their four daughters: Darlene Hoffman, wife of Joseph (Elizabethtown); Deborah Keiper, wife of James (Little Falls, NY); Diane Kanode, wife of Steven (Lawn); and Donna Buckwalter, wife of Phillip (Lawn); seven granddaughters, two grandsons, three great-grandsons, and three great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a grandson and two great-grandsons. She was the daughter of the late Wilson and Effie Rothermel.

Jean was a long-time member of Elizabethtown BIC Church. She was a faithful prayer warrior and her interests included knitting and crocheting as well as raising and releasing monarch butterflies (448 alone this year). She was an avid gardener, excellent cook, enjoyed playing card games and shuffleboard.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Elizabethtown BIC Church, 996 East High Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private.
