Jay Sylvester Ulrich, Sr.

Jay S. Ulrich Sr., 93, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in Orlando, FL. He is survived by his wife Elaine Kay Stoner Ulrich 86 and their two children Linda J. Hagmaier 65 and Jay Jr. 63; his four grandchildren Hannah Ulrich 28, Joseph Ulrich 25, Hagan Hagmaier 26 and Jake Hagmaier 23.

He was one of six children born of Louis J. Ulrich and Lindabel Flurie Ulrich. Jay Ulrich was predeceased by his brother Robert P. Ulrich, Doris L. Ulrich Erb, Mary B. Ulrich Erb, Louis J. “Skip” Ulrich Jr. and Stephen F. Ulrich.

He served 3 years in the USMC, in part as a radio operator during the Korean War. Thereafter, he received a bachelor’s degree in business from Penn State University.

Sometime after his father’s death in 1959, Jay and Skip gained oversight of the S.F Ulrich car dealership originating in 1908 by their grandfather. Jay remained in the new and used car business for 20 years.

He attended Mount Calvary Church in Elizabethtown most of his adult life. He enjoyed being a private pilot at the Donegal Airport, golfing, playing pinochle, car collecting, and travel.
