Jay M. “Bud” Boozer, 92, passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014. Born in Elizabethtown, he was the son of the late Ammon K. and Margie (Brandt) Boozer. He was the husband of Erma E. (Ginder) Boozer who died in 2012.
Bud was a US Army veteran of WWII. He was employed for 32 years as an auto body mechanic for H.S. Risser Garage. After retirement, he was employed part-time with Elizabethtown Borough. Bud was a former Cub Scout Master and sang with the Shenk’s Church Chorus. He was a member of the American Legion and was a 50 year member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown. He was a life member of the Elizabethtown Fire Dept., Elizabethtown Fire Police, Mount Joy Forest Fire Crew and Rheems Fire Company.
Mr. Boozer is survived by six children: Linda L. Boozer, Elizabethtown; Jay E. (Janet) Boozer, Palmyra; Terry S. (Sharon) Boozer; Michael S. (Robin) Boozer; Philip K. (Faythe) Boozer and James M. (RaeAnn) Boozer, all of Elizabethtown; 17 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; a brother, Larry D. Boozer, Mount Joy and a sister, Cleo Brubaker, Elizabethtown.
He was preceded in death by a sister Arlene Neideigh.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 398 North Locust Street, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM. Viewing will be held on Thursday at Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 North Market Street, Elizabethtown from 6:00-8:00 PM and on Friday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will take place in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown.
