Janice Marie (Meyer) Schlappig

Janice Marie (Meyer) Schlappig, 77, of Palmyra, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.  She was born Thursday, February 20, 1941 to the late Irvin H. and Mary (Ellenberger) Meyer.  She is predeceased by her loving husband George Schlappig since August 18, 2005.

Shopping, taking pictures, and gardening were just some of the things that Janice enjoyed.  She had a love for birds and playing cards and proudly cared for elderly through Helping Hands.  Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.

Janice is survived by two daughters, Jenise Pichini and husband Ronald, and Sue Simmers and husband Donald; 4 grandchildren, Sara Ralph, Kayla and Samantha Pichini, and Samantha Simmers; great granddaughter, Ryleigh Ridgely; 3 brothers, Bruce, Adrian, and Craig Meyer; and companion William Hinkle.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at noon at the Rothermel-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078 with Reverend Samuel Fry officiating.  Viewing will be held from 11 AM until time of the service.  Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
