Janice L. (Mcelhenny) Gerfin

Janice L. (McElhenny) Gerfin, 75, entered into rest at her home of 17 years in Marietta on Saturday, August 20, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Born Friday, August 1, 1947, in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd McElhenny and Kathryn E. (Demmy) Gilgallon.
Janice worked in personal care for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing card games and was also a member of the Amvets Post 153, Columbia.
She is survived by two children: Charles L. “Chubby” Miller Jr., married to Pamela, of Laurinburg, NC, and Leslie D. “Dee” Haupt, and her companion Steve Smith, of Marietta. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a sister, Sally McCurdy, of Florida; a brother, Skip McElhenney Sr., married to Lyn, of Yorkana, as well as Janice’s extended family and caring friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen Demmy.
Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Marietta Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 29 North Gay Street, Marietta, PA 17547, 717-426-3614.
