Jane A. Weigle

Jane went home to be with her Lord and Savior and be reunited with her mom, dad, and big brother on Thursday, July 12, from the Mount Joy Hospice Center in Lancaster County. Jane was born November 10, 1955 to George M. and Bettie K. Weigle. She graduated from Elizabethtown Area High School in 1974 and was a dedicated employee at Goodwill Industries of Lancaster County until 2003, when her health began to decline.

Jane was an avid Etown Bears, Phillies, and Penn State fan. With her brother, George, she attended many Penn State season and bowl games, including the 1995 Rose Bowl. Jane loved music and movies and had an extensive collection of both. She participated in the Special Olympics and won gold medals in swimming and bowling. Jane attended the Middletown First Church of God, where she sang with the Sunshiners and was an active member of the Encouragers. For 24 consecutive years, she eagerly anticipated the week she would spend at Camp Hope, her church camp experience.

Jane is predeceased by her parents and brother, George M. Weigle, Jr. She is survived by her sister Mary Beth (Patrick) Rank of Elizabethtown, her brother Charles J. (Deborah) Weigle of Middletown, her sister-in-law Gwendolyn of Hershey, Nieces Elizabeth, Laura, and Amanda, Nephews Patrick, Grant, and James, and great nephews and niece Bryan, Dylan, Patrick, and Anna. There will be no viewing. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 24 at her church at 235 W. High St. Middletown. There will be a visitation from 10-11, with services beginning at 11 am. Jane’s family requests that you wear bright colors or Penn State attire as we celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Camp YoliJwa, earmarked for Camp Hope at 1550 Doubling Gap Road, Newville, PA 17241-9757.
