Jane E. (Rider) Redcay, 51, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Thursday, March

24, 2016 at Lancaster General Hospital of natural causes.  She was born on

February 21, 1965 in York to Nina (Wierman) Rider and the late Lester “Mike”

Rider. She was married to Jaime M. Redcay on December 6, 1986.

Jane was born and raised in York, PA, moving to Elizabethtown in 1986. She

worked as a Nurse’s Assistant at Masonic Village for 10 years helping residents

with their daily care. In 1996 she started work at Y & S Candies, Lancaster until

her passing.

Jane was a member of the American Legion Post #329 and of the Moose Lodge

#596. She enjoyed countless hours camping, hiking and fishing, with free

weekends spent exploring a new state park and seeking as many hidden treasures

she could find. She enjoyed making crafts; counting cross stitching and sewing

were her favorites. Recently she had begun a new hobby of bird watching; placing

feeders in the backyard and viewing the “eagle cam” daily.  Most importantly Jane

loved spending quality time with family and friends.

In addition to her loving husband of nearly 30 years, she is survived by three

children: Jennifer A. Yeany and husband Brody of Severn, MD; Andrew M.

Redcay, of Middletown and Joanna M. Redcay, of Elizabethtown; her mother,

Nina, of York; a brother, Michael Rider and wife Eileen, of Elizabethtown; a sister,

Kathy Rhone and husband Brad, of Hanover as well as Jane’s extended family and

caring friends.  In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother,

Gregory Rider.
