James "Jim" Albert Murphy
April 6, 1948 — February 22, 2015
James “Jim” Albert Murphy, 66, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was born Tuesday, April 6, 1948 in Ithaca, NY to the late Kenneth W., Sr. and Virginia A. (Sanford) Murphy.
Jim proudly served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 5667 and the NRA. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He is survived by 3 children, Tina M. Hutchison and husband Brian, Michael G. Murphy, and Shannon L. Lower; 4 grandchildren, Brianna and Brian Hutchison and Kylie and Jax Murphy; a sister, Nancy L. Freeman and husband Jerry; 3 brothers, Kenneth W. Murphy, Jr. and wife Denise, Robert L. Murphy, and John J. Murphy and wife Fonda; and good friends, Jim and Barb Mitchell.
Visitation and remembrance time will be held Saturday, February 28th between 1 PM and 3 PM at Miller-Sekely Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown 17022. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens, Columbia.
