James A. Kane, 82, of Palmyra, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Twin Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center, Campbelltown. He was born Tuesday, September 1, 1931 in Lancaster to the late William Albert Kane and Ida May (Graham) Angelini. He is survived by his loving wife of 14 years Winifred Mae (Farnsler) Kane. In 1999 he was predeceased by his first wife Charlotte (Wine) Kane.

Jim attended Open Door Baptist Church. He was a faithful and loving servant of the Lord. He farmed land for Hershey Estates Farms and was a Union Carpenter and a subcontractor. Most importantly Jim was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.

He is survived by 2 sons, James L. Kane and wife Iva of Palmyra and Ronald Kane and wife Gina of Elizabethtown; 3 daughters, Phyllis Kuhn and husband Dwight of Hershey, Linda and the late Stephen Reed of Reedsville, and Charlene Eshelman and husband Eric of Pequea; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; and a foster brother and sister. He was predeceased by 3 brothers and a foster sister.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 15th at 11 AM at Open Door Baptist Church, 875 Academy Dr., Lebanon 17046 with Pastor Bernard Didden and Rev. Craig L. Griffith, Sr. officiating. Burial will take place in Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. Family and friends are invited for viewing on Thursday, August 14th from 6-8 PM at Rothermel Funeral Home, 25 W. Pine St., Palmyra 17078 and on Friday from 10 AM until time of the service at the church.
