James David “Jim” Painter, 53, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2020, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Marietta.  Born Friday, December 16, 1966, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Alfred and Bernice (Moran) Painter.  He was married to Connie M. (Grogan) Painter on September 8, 2001.

Jim was a plumber for the majority of his life as well as a jack of all trades. He was hard working and always willing to help anyone in any way he could. One of the biggest Eagles fans you’d ever meet. Luckily, he was able to see a Superbowl win and parade home in Philly before this battle started. He was the brightest light in any room and could make anyone feel at home like they were part of the family. Although things will be different now, anyone who’s ever had the pleasure of meeting Jim will continue to share fond memories and stories of the times they spent with him. Whether it be him dancing at the campground, or celebrating a Eagles touchdown, Jim always tried to make the best of life, there's not a person he met who doesn't have a story about how humble and goofy he was. We encourage everyone to share stories of him and keep his good memories around forever, the world lost someone special but nothing can take our memories with him.

In addition to his wife of over 19 years, Connie Painter, he is survived by two children: Matthew and Chelsea Painter, all of Philadelphia now living in Marietta.  Jim is also survived by his sister, Shirley Kennedy, as well as her three sons: Joey, Micheal, and Jeffrey.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10am on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at Presentation BVM Parish, located at 100 Old Soldiers Road, Cheltenham PA, 19012. Private burial will be at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted with the Smedley-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 29 North Gay Street, Marietta, PA  17547, 717-426-3614.
