James G. O'Neil

James G. O’Neil, 89, of Elizabethtown died on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Lombardi) O’Neil. He was widowed by his wife, Ruth M. (Shaak) O’Neil, in January if this year.
Jim was a proud US Army Veteran. He worked as barber for 50 years, until retirement. In his younger years, he played cards weekly at the Elk’s Club with his friends. He enjoyed going antiquing with his wife, and golfing. He especially liked to go to Hollywood Casino and play the slot machines.
He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Mench of York; grandson Justin Pennabecker; three step children: Bob Longenecker & wife Danielle of Elizabethtown, Dave Longenecker & wife Amy of Pottersdale, and Kate Phillips; and sister Mary Benner.
A Memorial Service will be held at Noon on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022, 717-367-1543. A visitation will be held from 11 - Noon prior to the service. Burial will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with military honors.
