James A. Kling, Jr., 103, of Hershey, formerly of Elizabethtown, passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Frey Village. Born Monday, August 26, 1918 in Middletown, he was the son of the late James A., Sr. and Carrie (Bowsman) Kling. He was married 77 years to Martha Rebecca “Becky” (Coble) Kling who survives him.

A 1937 graduate of Middletown High School, Jim was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII serving in the China-Burma-India Theater. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the Air Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters and the Distinguished Flying Cross as well as other unit citations. Jim began his career at Olmsted Air Force Base in Middletown. After serving during the war, he continued his career at Olmsted from 1945-65. In 1965 he and his wife transferred to Robins Air Force Base in Georgia where he worked in administration until his retirement in June of 1974.

Jim was an avid golfer and bowler. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states in the United States. A master Tiddley Winks player, he enjoyed telling his defeated opponents that “he skunked them!”

The last of his immediately family, Jim will be missed by his loving wife, and extended family and friends.

Service and interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
