Jacqueline W. Grumbacher (April 30, 1944 - December 27, 2025) died peacefully at home in Annville, PA, after a number of long and short illnesses. Jackie Giuliano was born in Tarrytown, NY, to the late Gaspare and Josephine (Galliano) Giuliano. Her father’s death when she was 5 plunged her family into poverty. But she was a fighter: she was educated at Sleepy Hollow High School in Tarrytown and Bryn Mawr College, where she got a full scholarship and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1966. She then pursued a career in Communications, starting at Dell Publishing in New York and continuing with Harper and Row in Chicago, and the American Red Cross, the Mortgage Bankers Association and Freddie Mac in Washington, DC. She and her husband left DC in 2000 to become houseparents at the Milton Hershey School and then retired to Lebanon County. There they got involved in politics and started a number of local projects, including the local annual Fiesta Latina.
Jackie inspired everyone who knew her with her selfless love and affection. She inspired each of us to be our best selves. She loved everybody and everything .She loved to walk, read, (especially Jane Austen and archaeology), listen to love songs, watch British mysteries, cook and garden. She loved to work for causes she cared about: equality, suffrage. peace, and bringing people together for good. She was predeceased by her sisters, Nina Sticker and Grace Sagona.
And she loved her family: her son, Greg Wertime, of Glendale,CA; her daughter, Kate Grumbacher (David Ash) of Alexandria,VA; and her granddaughter Sophie Ash, who called her Grammy. She also loved and was loved by her many nieces and nephews and their families. And she shared a mutual deep devotion with her husband of 36 years, Steve, who will try to continue to spread the gospel of love that Jackie taught him.

While Jackie loved flowers, she would have hoped instead that you donate your time or money to something or someone that YOU love and care about. Most of all, she would have wanted you to live your best life: to be the person you were born to be and to love ever more deeply the wonders of this world. Take care!
