J. Richard Winey

J. Richard “Dick” Winey, 90, of Middletown, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. He was born December 2, 1933, in Lancaster, PA to the late John R. and Anna (Hess) Winey. He was married to Marian (Stoner) Winey for 65 years.

Dick spent 40 plus years working as a realtor in the Elizabethtown area and enjoyed helping first-time home buyers realize their dreams. In addition to spending time with family and friends, he enjoyed vacationing in the mountains, flower gardening, and attracting bluebirds to his backyard. Most important to him was his faith and he served the Lord faithfully at Steelton Mennonite Church until his death.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marian; four sons, Richard Winey (Dawn) of Elizabethtown, Michael Winey of Pullman, WA, Phillip Winey (Susan) of Mount Joy, Fredrick Winey (Kim) of Elizabethtown; grandchildren, Jordan (Allison), Dane, Drew (Isabel), Kat and Emily Winey, Conner McCall (Evanna Edwards, fiancee); great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Sophia, Abigail, Marlow and Maeve; and sisters, Edith and Evelyn Winey. He is preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Doris Winey.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Steelton Mennonite Church with visitation at 10:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Steelton Mennonite Church, 501 N Third Street, Steelton, PA 17113.
