J. William Fisher, 90, Elizabethtown, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown. Born in Gap, he was the son of the late John and Martha (Sterling) Fisher. He was the husband of Fern (Isley) Fisher of Elizabethtown.
Mr. Fisher was a resident of Springfield, Delaware County, for over 50 years. He served in the US Army Signal Corps during WWII in the South Pacific. He was a charter member of Covenant Methodist Church and was a member of the Methodist Men. He was a founding member of the Springfield Athletic Association. Mr. Fisher was employed by Bell of PA and its successors, Northern Telecom and later as a consultant. He was also a golfer, baseball player and an avid Phillies fan.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the John S. Sell Memorial Chapel, Masonic Village, Elizabethtown at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.
